On July 29th, Mayor Kevin McCarty, Vice Mayor Karina Talamantes , and Assemblymember Maggy Krell are once again hosting their Annual Backpack Drive! For the third year in a row I’ll be handing out new and diverse children’s books to families and kids of all ages! I’ve been collecting donations all year for this event and I’m so grateful to everyone who’s donated to my nonprofit. The Annual Backpack event reaches hundreds of kids from underprivileged communities. Children in need of stories! The Annual Backpack Drive provides local students with free backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, books, bike repairs, lunch, and more to help them start the school year ready for success!
