Session 473 is out, and it’s about mushrooms. Not the pizza kind. We sent our Director of Podcasts, Ellice Ellis, to Jamaica for a psilocybin retreat with Beckley Retreats, because wellness culture is popular culture, and we needed boots on the ground understanding of what psychedelic-assisted therapy actually is. Here’s Hanifa Nayo Washington, the Lead Facilitator who held the space alongside a full care team, on what psychedelic-assisted care looks like when it’s done right, when it’s done in community, and when it’s done in community with black women. She’s been in this work for over two decades, comes from a long line of Afro-Indigenous healers, and has a real care and respect for mushrooms in all forms that you may not have known you needed. Full conversation on episode 473, and stay tuned for part two. #TherapyForBlackGirls
