I am not a communist. I am not a socialist.
I am a Democrat who believes government should work for the people who pay for it.
Communism means the government controls nearly all property and economic production. Socialism generally means public ownership or control of major industries and services.
That is not what I am proposing.
I support private property, small businesses, family farms, free enterprise, and the right to build a successful life through hard work. I also believe taxpayers should receive something valuable in return. Strong public schools. Safe roads. Reliable emergency services. Accessible healthcare. Protection for our public lands. Those are not communist ideas. They are services Americans have funded together for generations.
