When your handicap is a real handicap 🤷♂️🏌♂️ July is disability pride month and I can honestly say that I'm proud of myself for accepting what I can no longer control and not letting it hold me back from doing things that I love. When I decided to start sharing my golf journey of breaking 90 with Muscular Dystrophy, I knew it wouldn't be easy at all. The mental, physical, and emotional toll would be a challenge but it's a testament to where I'm in my life now. When I was diagnosed with LGMD five years ago, I was going through the stages of grief and never thought I'd land at acceptance of my situation. As we stand today, i can say that I do carry a sense of disability pride. Never let your fears decide your fate and figure out what works best for you to succeed. I've learned how to do just that. I'm navigating it and I'm gonna keep checking off my list of goals that I want to accomplish. Next up, breaking 90 ✔️ #golf #handicap #disabilitypride #golftok #golfers
