I’m committed to the process. I’m excited about this block. I think my response to training has been fantastic.
Four weeks ago: Threshold pace required concentration.
Today: “I barely look at the watch” is what I kept telling myself during Tuesday’s threshold workout.
That tells me my body is recognizing LT pace naturally.
Week 1-4 was about building foundation:
✅ Better aerobic capacity.
✅ Better threshold.
✅ Better pacing.
✅ Better confidence.
✅ Better running economy.
✅ Better durability.
Week 5 will be about building on the adaptations I’ve earned.
A big performance limitation has been dehydration. As a heavy sweater, I’m still yet to figure out how to hydrate properly before and during long runs in the heat. 500mg of sodium just doesn’t cut it for me. I lose about ~ 1,800mg of sodium per hour running.
