This week at #SothebysNewYork, Watson and Crick’s original DNA model from 1953 soared to more than 3x its pre-sale estimate in the auction room. One of just six known examples, it ranks as one of the most important and profound scientific achievements of the 20th century. Watson and Crick would go on to receive a Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1962 for their work on the molecular structure of DNA. Watch the incredible moment auctioneer Justin Cheung brought the hammer down for a final price of 614,400 USD. Considering consignment? Sell with us at the link in bio. The Summer Season is presented in partnership with sothebysrealty.
