Metro plans to install clear screens running the length of platforms on the Red Line to keep riders safe. The transit agency shared renderings Tuesday of how the 5-foot-7-inch-tall screens would look at indoor stations and outdoor stations. Metro says it has had dozens of people trespass on tracks so far this year and, unfortunately, 10 fatalities on the tracks. Sometimes riders intentionally get on the tracks. Cost will be a concern, and Metro hasn’t put a final dollar amount on the project, but it would likely be in the hundreds of millions of dollars. The earliest it could happen is 2028, Metro said. See more at our #linkinbio. #WashingtonDC #Metro #WMATA
