Yet another warning from the oceans: A crucial Pacific region is heating far beyond anything seen in the observational record, on top of seas that already absorb most of the excess heat from the climate crisis. Hotter oceans mean more marine heatwaves, coral bleaching, rising seas, stronger storms and hurricanes, and marine life being pushed out of the habitats it depends on. Our survival is at stake.
