When academic rigor meets room to experiment, remarkable things happen. 💛 This year, German B Teacher Undine Groeger partnered with the Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art through the Mandala Lab in Your Classroom program, which uses Himalayan art and mindfulness practices to cultivate emotional awareness and compassion in the classroom. The workshops brought mindfulness and stress-reduction into the World Languages classroom, helping students grow their German skills while exploring meditative practices connected to Tibetan Buddhism. Chancellor Spahn was also able to lend his experiences. As a former Rubin Museum Board member, he joined students to reflect on the Tibetan artwork found right here at Dwight — and on the mandala as a source of energy connecting every student, an idea that echoes our Spark of Genius ethos.
