Most meaningful experience in Canada 🇨🇦 During our trip to Cape Breton, we visited Eskasoni Cultural Journeys, where we joined a guided experience on the Goat Island to learn more about the Mi’kmaq people and their enduring connection to this land. The Mi’kmaq are the Indigenous people of Mi’kma’ki, their ancestral territory, which includes all of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, parts of New Brunswick, Québec, and Newfoundland. Unama’ki (Cape Breton Island) is one of the seven traditional districts of Milkmaki and continues to be home to vibrant Mi’kmaq communities today. As we walked the trail, our guide shared stories about Mi’kmaq history, traditions, language, and teachings, along with their deep respect for the land, water, and all living things.
