Yesterday, BTM had the pleasure of spending the day at Queen’s Club, taking part in a number of inspiring events and conversations focused on opening tennis up to more people.
In the morning, our female mentors attended the LTA She Rallies event, bringing together female coaches to discuss the challenges facing women in sport and how we can increase the visibility, representation and retention of girls and women within coaching.
Our Level 1 Coach Mentee, Amira, said “my biggest takeaway was learning how many girls drop out of sport during their teenage years while their brothers continue, and has inspired me to create environments where girls want to stay in tennis long term”.
In the afternoon, our founders Bee and Arum met with Kerry Tavrou, Head of Inclusion & Diversity at Tennis Australia, and Dave Hardman, LTA EDI Strategy Manager, to share insights from BTM’s work and explore how similar approaches could support Tennis Australia’s inclusion journey.
