Four years ago, I flew to Qatar to work in media operations. I turned 20 while I was there, just a girl from Canada with a dream of making a name for herself in sports media.
Before I left, I made myself one promise: the next World Cup I worked would be as a reporter.
Four years later, I got to live that dream in my home country, in my home city.
I got to tell stories that deserved to be heard. I got to spotlight the smaller nations with the biggest heart, the players creating change, and the moments that reminded me why I fell in love with journalism in the first place.
I love this job.
But if you had asked me four years ago what my career would look like today, I never would’ve guessed the impact social media would have on my life. Building a community with all of you has become one of the greatest gifts of this journey.
