Today’s message at LCBC has been on my mind all afternoon. We watched Sarah’s Oil, based on the true story of Sarah Rector. She inherited 160 acres of land that everyone believed was worthless. Dry. No future. Nothing special. But beneath the surface was oil. The oil wasn’t created the day they drilled. It had been there all along. That hit me. How many times have I judged myself by what’s happening on the surface? A setback. A mistake. A season that didn’t go the way I planned. If I’m honest, I’ve also been guilty of looking at other people the same way. But what if we’re wrong? What if God sees something in us that hasn’t been uncovered yet? When I look back on my life, I’m thankful for the people who believed in me before I believed in myself. They didn’t give me my potential. They helped me discover what God had already placed there.
