As we continue our exploration of the symbolism of our beloved church, we step inside to see the blend of Tudor and Norman Gothic architecture. The limestone walls and pillars set the stage with seven arches on either side, symbolizing the seven sacraments, supporting the entire weight of the timber roof and ceiling.
The central seating section, known as the nave, derives from the Latin word for ship. Above, the ceiling's architectural design takes the form of a boat's hull - a reminder of our sacred journey through history.
Stay tuned for the next addition as we continue to uncover the hidden treasures within the heart of Our Lady of Lourdes.
