Marie Clark Taylor (1911 –1990) was an American botanist. She was the first woman to earn a science doctorate at Fordham University (1941). She was the Head of the Botany Department at Howard University in 1947. Her research focused photomorphogenesis—how light affects plant structure & growth (separate from photosynthesis).
