šŖ Recovery Tip: Protein Doesn't Build Muscle During Your Workout... It Builds It After.
Every workout creates tiny tears in your muscle fibers.
The good news? That's completely normal! During recovery, your body repairs those tiny tears, making your muscles stronger than before. Protein gives your body the building blocks (amino acids) it needs to do that job, while carbohydrates help replenish the energy (glycogen) your muscles used during your workout, so including both is a great recovery combo.
Try to include 20ā40 g of protein within a couple of hours after your workout.
Some easy ideas are:
š„ 3 eggs with whole wheat toast
š„£ Greek yogurt with fruit and granola
š Grilled chicken with rice
š„Ŗ Turkey or tuna sandwich
š„¤ A protein shake with a banana
And remember, recovery isn't just about food! š§ Stay hydrated and š“ get enough sleep, because that's when your body does most of its repair work and comes back stronger. šŖ
