One year ago today, Arizona officially declared July 22, 2025, “Ozzy Osbourne Day” in honor of the legendary Black Sabbath frontman. 🤘 The proclamation was signed by Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes while he was serving as acting governor, recognizing Ozzy’s decades-long impact on heavy metal, music and popular culture. The declaration came on the same day Ozzy passed away at 76, just 17 days after performing his final show with Black Sabbath in his hometown of Birmingham, England. Today marks one year since Arizona gave the Prince of Darkness’ final day an official place in state history.
