A 41-year-old Mesa woman has been arrested after police accused her of taking the life of her 82-year-old husband inside their home Saturday night. Court documents say Christina Copley went to a neighbor’s home shortly before 10:30 p.m. and allegedly admitted she had harmed her husband, Ed Copley. Officers later found him unresponsive beside his bed. Christina initially denied responsibility before claiming her husband came at her first and that she acted in self-defense. She also alleged he had physically and verbally abused her earlier that day, but investigators said some of her injuries did not appear consistent with her account. She remains in custody on a $500,000 cash-only bond. The allegations against her have not been proven in court. What do y’all think of her self-defense claim?
