Filiberto’s is officially taking over Scottsdale’s historic Taco Bell building near Hayden and McDowell roads. 🌮👀 Known as Store No. 31, the location opened in the 1960s and served Scottsdale for more than 60 years. It became one of the oldest surviving Taco Bell restaurants in the country and one of the last to preserve the chain’s original mission-style architecture. The tiny restaurant had only three indoor tables and became such a fast-food landmark that fans traveled from across the country before it closed in April 2025. A newer Taco Bell now operates across the street, but the future of the original building remained unknown for more than a year. The building has now been painted bright red, and a Filiberto’s sign has replaced the vintage Taco Bell sign. Filiberto’s opened its first Arizona location in Mesa in 1993 and has since grown to more than 100 locations across the state. An opening date has not been announced.
