The Arizona Cardinals are dealing with a gambling scandal just days before training camp.
Ryan Gold, the team’s director of college scouting, has been suspended indefinitely after the NFL said he shared confidential information about Arizona’s 2026 draft selections before the picks were announced. The league also found that Gold participated in parlay bets involving NFL and college football games.
Gold has spent 13 seasons with the Cardinals and was promoted to his current position in 2025. The NFL says its investigation included interviews and electronic records, but found no evidence that any games were affected or that other Cardinals employees, coaches or players were involved.
Gold’s attorney denies both allegations, claiming Gold never knew the team’s picks in advance and that the small weekly bets were placed by his wife. Gold plans to appeal the suspension.
What do y’all think—does an indefinite suspension fit the allegations? 👀
