We like to print materials from our collections for videos but we like to have some relevancy when we put ink to paper. One of the ways we do this is to find national “holidays” to help highlight certain woodcuts, electrotypes, photo engravings, and typeset phrases. This video is a little more personal though because this video is for Howard’s birthday. We are not allowed to say exactly when but it is sometime in late July. We are not able to share Howard’s age but this will be the last year that he is in his 80s! For today, Jared letterpress printed the perfect woodcut for this occasion. We received this woodcut in the mail several years ago from Mark who lives in Saskatchewan, Canada. Thank you, Mark, for helping to highlight this day.
