I have often reflected on the metaphor of rebuilding Jerusalem, which Pope Leo XIV references in “Magnifica Humanitas”. Not as the reconstruction of a city, but as the restoration of our shared humanity. As someone who grew up in an interfaith family, I have witnessed firsthand that dialogue is not weakness. It is one of humanity’s greatest strengths. It is where trust is built, where differences become wisdom, and where peace begins. That is why I believe ethical and responsible AI cannot be built by engineers alone. It must be shaped by faith leaders, governments, academia, innovators, civil society, and every community whose future will be touched by this technology. The vision of the Encyclical Magnifica Humanitas, reminds us that safeguarding human dignity in the age of Artificial Intelligence is a shared responsibility.
