But while others ran for safety, San Diego businessman Antoine Sallis ran toward the victim. A teenager had been shot and was bleeding heavily. Without hesitation, Sallis removed his shirt, used the teen’s knife to rip it into a makeshift bandage, and wrapped it tightly around the wound to help stop the bleeding until first responders arrived. Authorities later confirmed that two people were injured in the shooting and that a juvenile suspect was taken into custody.
