"Tell me I can do this? Stick my hand in a grizzly bear's mouth," Bill Whitaker said as he approached a sedated, 300-pound grizzly in 2020. The 5-year-old bear was measured, had blood drawn and tufts of hair were pulled for DNA analysis.
