Can padel become America's next breakout racquet sport? Padel’s push into the U.S. sports landscape is gaining momentum, attracting both players and investors eager to capitalize on the sport’s rapid growth. According to the Wall Street Journal, padel reached an estimated 1M U.S. players last year, while USA Padel reported club and individual memberships grew roughly 50% year over year in 2025. The sport’s infrastructure is expanding just as quickly, with the number of public courts in the U.S. climbing to around 1,000 — a 400% increase since 2023. Celebrities including Eva Longoria and Derek Jeter are backing ventures tied to the sport, while investors fund new courts and professional competition. Still, growth comes with a hefty price tag: Installing a single court can cost about $50,000. Padel's long-term success will depend on continued investment in both infrastructure and marketing.
