Apparently, I've been doing all of my workouts wrong.. Welcome to my series where we both learned how to properly exercise without getting injured! Today we have sumo squats * The Stance: Place your feet wider than shoulder-width. Point your toes outward at a 30 to 45-degree angle to align with your natural hip external rotation. * Weight Placement: If using a dumbbell or kettlebell, hold it vertically with both arms and let it hang naturally between your legs close to your body. * The Descent: Hinge at your hips and push your butt back and down rather than squatting straight down. Keep a neutral spine and maintain a 30-degree forward lean in your torso. * The Drive: Push through the entirety of your feet (midfoot to heels) to stand up. Avoid hyperextending your lower back or thrusting your hips too far forward at the top of the movement. #sumosquats #gymbeginner
