Berlin mourned the victims of a car attack on a major LGBTQ Pride gathering in Berlin with flowers and candles. The attack left one person dead and 29 people injured. Candles and flowers were placed at the site of the attack in Tiergarten Park with rainbow flags and hearts expressing sympathy for the victims and calling for solidarity. Another memorial site was set up in front of the Brandenburg Gate with similar messages. A known Islamist, suspected of having driven the minivan into the crowd on Saturday evening (July 25), was shot dead on Sunday (July 26) by police in Berlin's Spandau district.
