Desert Cactus Films Launches the Music Video Lab in Las Vegas Las Vegas filmmakers and musicians have a new opportunity to collaborate thanks to Rachel Johnson and Danny Chandia, co-founders of Desert Cactus Films. Partnering with the Desert Waves Film & Music Festival, the duo is launching “The Music Video Lab”, a month-long filmmaking challenge designed to bring local directors and recording artists together to create original music videos under real production conditions. Applications close August 21 at 7:00 p.m. PDT, with selected participants announced on August 28. Teams will officially begin production on September 1 and have until September 30 to shoot and deliver an original music video. The finished projects will premiere during the Desert Waves Film & Music Festival on October 17–18, 2026.
