"Disability Pride Month, a time to recognize disability as an important part of identity and to celebrate the resilience, strength and contributions of the disability community. This year has brought its share of challenges and setbacks. Like anyone working toward meaningful goals, there have been moments of frustration when progress hasn’t looked the way I expected. But looking back reminds me how far I’ve come. Learning to sit up and control my body and head. Learning to use my voice and communicate. Learning new horses and adapting to new movements. Learning what it truly means to compete physically and mentally as an athlete. None of those milestones happened overnight, and none of them came easily.
