𤯠MERCEDES-AMG JUST TOOK THE ROOF OFF THE G63āļø
Mercedes-AMG has released the clearest teaser yet of its upcoming open-top G-Class, showing a powered fabric roof folding behind the rear seats.
Unlike older two-door G-Wagen Cabriolets, this appears to be a full-size four-door model with both seating rows exposed.
The teaser vehicle features AMG styling, side-exit exhausts and a deep V8 soundtrack, strongly indicating that a G 63 Cabriolet is coming.
Final specifications have not been announced, but it is expected to use the current G 63ās 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 and 48-volt mild-hybrid system, which produce 577 horsepower in the hardtop model.
Mercedes will also need to reinforce the chassis substantially to maintain body rigidity when the roof is removed, especially if it is expected to retain genuine off-road capability.
