❗️A driverless Waymo just became the strictest chaperone imaginable after two teenagers allegedly turned their robotaxi ride into a reckless afternoon. San Mateo police said the two 15-year-olds were drinking alcohol and firing Orbeez water beads from the vehicle as it traveled around town. Waymo personnel monitoring the cabin believed the black object could be dangerous, contacted police and guided the vehicle into a nearby parking lot. Officers detained the riders and recovered a heavily painted gel-bead blaster along with bottles containing orange water beads. Despite the viral claim, police clarified that the teenagers were not physically locked inside and remained capable of leaving the vehicle. The teens were not arrested and were ultimately released to their parents.
