Memorial City Ice Rink is getting a few more months on the ice. The rink, which was scheduled to close at the end of July, will now remain open through Dec. 14 after community members spoke out against the planned closure. Skating programs, hockey and lessons will continue this fall before the rink is ultimately removed as part of a redevelopment project.
