Deputies Help Bring Woman to Safety On the evening of July 24, Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to reports of a woman in crisis who was threatening to jump from the Valencia Boulevard overpass above Interstate 5. When deputies arrived, they immediately began communicating with her, established trust, and worked patiently to de-escalate the situation. The woman voluntarily stepped away from the edge and was safely taken into protective care. We are grateful for the teamwork of our deputies, lasdmet, chp_newhall, and lacountyfd personnel, whose compassion and coordinated response helped bring this dangerous situation to a safe conclusion.
