This year more than 120 young indigenous women are competing for the title of the highest representation of indigenous women in the country. In the video: Jannileth Mateo Juan from Huehuetenango has been elected as the 58th Rabin Ajaw, the highest woman representative of Indigenous people in Guatemala. As a national cultural ambassador, Rabin Ajaw is expected to promote Indigenous heritage and be a voice and leader for the original peoples of Guatemala.
