The Parton family is in mourning. Coy “Denver” Parton, 82—brother of Dolly Parton, 80—died on July 23, according to his obituary shared by Atchley Funeral Home in Sevierville, Tenn., where the crane operator was based. His cause of death has not been shared. Denver is survived by eight of his siblings—including Dolly—as well as two daughters and a grandson. According to his obituary, Denver was also a homestead farmer and avid hunter. His passing comes a little over a year after Dolly lost her husband of nearly 59 years, Carl Dean, who died in March 2025. Shortly after his death, the country music icon reflected on her grief during a visit to Dollywood, sharing that she was "doing better than [she] thought [she] would" and that while there would always be "a hole in [her] heart," she would "fill that up with good stuff" and keep Carl close.
