Abdul Ballout drove a van into a crowd of people at Berlin Pride on Saturday night, killing a woman and injuring 29 others in what was later labelled as an 'Islamist terrorist attack'. The 21-year-old, who was shot dead by police on Sunday, was previously believed to have been involved in a high volume of criminal offences, radicalization and affiliation with the Islamist scene. Ballout was recently released from prison following his conviction for 'preparing a serious act of violence endangering the state'.
