Chinese mathematicians Wang Hong and Deng Yu have been awarded the 2026 Fields Medal, the highest honor in mathematics.⁣ ⁣ Wang and Deng were the first Chinese nationals to get the top honor in mathematics, and they won the award together with another two mathematicians, John Pardon and Jacob Tsimerman.⁣ ⁣ The awards were announced at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Philadelphia on July 23.
