I planned this Alaska trip around what would be fun for my family right now, not necessarily what @dr.marvinksmith and I would choose to do on our own. Looking back, I think we found a great balance. Here are our ratings with my thoughts: 🐕 Dog Sled & Musher Experience — 10/10 The clear winner for our family. The drive up the mountain was beautiful, we learned about dog sled racing, met the sled dog team, rode a dog sled, and spent time with a litter of husky puppies. There was enough variety that all four of us stayed engaged from start to finish. 🐟 Salmon Bake — 9/10 Such a relaxing family experience. Fresh salmon, a delicious buffet, a creek with a beautiful waterfall, marshmallow roasting, and hot cider. It was simple, scenic, and a wonderful way to spend the afternoon together. 🐋 Whale Watching — 7/10 The wildlife absolutely delivered. We saw whales, a mama bear with her cubs, and sea lions.
