St. George Duel in the Desert: 🥇Lucy won first place in the girls 18s singles beating the number 2 seed in the semis and the number 1 seed in the finals. That final was a battle and she FOUGHT and stayed focused, fearless, and aggressive. 5-7, 7-5, 10-7 and a 2.5 hour battle. Sam also played. He did really well especially considering he hasn’t played a tournament in over a year and it was his first time playing in the 14s. He won his first match then battled against two seeded players in close sets. Lucy and her friend, Savannah, played doubles (up in the 18s) and had a tough loss in the first round playing the top seeds (6-8) but went on to win the consolation round easily 8-3, and 8-1. Isaac tagged along and we kept busy exploring Tonaquint Park and eating lots of Einstein Bros. Bagels (not shown 🤣). It was fun and exhausting. 11 matches in 33 hours.
