🥦 The cyclospora outbreak has a lot of parents worried about serving fruits and veggies, and that's completely understandable.
Dr. Neil G. Rellosa shares what you need to know to keep your kids safe:
Cyclospora is a parasitic infection kids can get from contaminated food or water and it's more common than you might think.
Watch for these signs:
- Watery diarrhea (often starting 1–2 weeks after exposure)
- Stomach cramps, bloating & nausea
- Fatigue, headache, or low-grade fever
- Dehydration is a real risk, especially in young children. If your child is peeing less, has a dry mouth, or seems extra sleepy, call your doctor right away.
The good news? Most kids recover fully with treatment. Don't wait if symptoms are severe, keep coming back, or last more than a few days.
When in doubt, call your child's doctor. đź’™
