Did you know that all three Apollo 11 spacesuits are in our collection? Pictured left to right are the Apollo spacesuits of Buzz Aldrin, Michael Collins, and Neil Armstrong.
Notice anything different about Collins's spacesuit? It's an intravehicular suit (as opposed to the Moonwalkers' extravehicular suits). It wasn't configured for use with the personal life support system (PLSS) and does not have connectors on the chest for that. His suit also doesn't have contrast stitching on the leg straps -- as he was staying in the command module, he wasn't going to operate in the high contrast environment of the Moon.
Neil Armstrong's spacesuit is on display at the Museum in DC, and the other two are currently in safe storage.
