Wildfires have been spreading through south-west France since yesterday, forcing the evacuation of thousands of people in #Gironde. Our Meteosat-12 satellite captured one of the larger fires between 05:50 UTC - 18:30 UTC. This Fire Temperature RGB layer shows the evolution of the fires - with active hotspots highlighted in red. Wildfires have also broken out in Spain and Italy in recent days, as Europe continues to experience record-breaking heat.
