“When I walked into this building, I knew this was where I wanted to be.” After discovering Alfred State while searching for a college that would allow her to learn by doing, Janiesha Dureny found her place in the Building Construction major at our Wellsville campus. Today, Janiesha is building homes from the ground up. "My favorite part is going to the house and seeing something built from the ground up. In just two years, we've watched a project go from nothing to a complete structure." Along the way, Janiesha has found mentors in her professors, leadership opportunities through Student Senate and track & field, and the confidence to pursue a future giving back through projects like Habitat for Humanity.
