🎬🤖 Elon Musk is betting 5 months of AI video generation can match what took Nolan $250 million and IMAX cameras.
He named Grok Imagine, xAI’s image and video generation tool, as the system that will produce a complete Odyssey before the end of 2026.
He separately backed a rival idea, replying “I’m down” to a suggestion that he give Mel Gibson $100 million for a live-action version with dialogue spoken in Homeric Greek.
Both posts follow months of criticism he has aimed at Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, particularly its casting and Lupita Nyong’o’s role. Nolan’s version passed its budget in a single weekend, taking about $265 million worldwide, and used almost no CGI.
For now the promise is the entire project. Musk gave no budget, cast or release platform, and no detail on how a full feature would be produced or where it would play.
