If the front door of a historic home feels anachronistic, consider replacing it with something that has a timeless design. That’s what centeredbydesign and katesweeneydesign did with the front door and steps of this 1896 Victorian-style home in Bucktown. We removed the modern single door, reframed the entry for a custom simpsondoorco set of double doors and transom, and replaced the sloped concrete stairs (which were treacherous in the winter) with a classic, stately set.
