It started with an invite from a friend to try a sport I used to make fun of kids for doing. Somewhere along the way, it turned into something way bigger. What began as something I figured I’d just try on a whim became a passion I can’t imagine doing life without.
A team of random people became a group I’m incredibly grateful to have been a part of—people who turned into family. My coaches took a lanky, loud-mouthed kid and turned him into a halfway decent discus thrower—still a loud mouth—but more importantly, into a man ready to take on his next phase of life.
I don’t really know what life looks like without this sport, and truthfully, I don’t think I’ll ever be fully done with it. It’s a part of me now. But for now—thank you.
Scots on me. Scots on three.
