What does Ted White want Howard football to represent?
In this exclusive HBCU Gameday interview, Howard head coach Ted White discusses returning to his alma mater, preparing players for life after football and strengthening the connection between the Bison, Howard University alumni and Washington, D.C.
“As we know, this game has an expiration date,” White said. “And when that expiration date happens, you have to be ready to go into this real world and being able to provide for your family.”
White also discusses Howard’s free spring game, the importance of reconnecting with the D.C. community, the Jordan Brand relationship and the style of football he expects from the Bison in 2026.
“When you turn on the film, I want you to see a physical brand of football from Howard University on the offensive side as well as the defensive side,” White said. He also wants a disciplined team that understands situations and plays “a smart brand of football.”
