POV! You're a U.S. Air Force Reserve C-130H aerial firefighting pilot and this is your view out the window as you provide fire support in Oregon! It's a long video, but you will fly through the smoke, past tall mountains, watch for the lead plane telling you where to drop the retardant and look for the shadow on the ground as we make a drop! Note the terrain is wild and rugged and we're flying low so we get the optimal use of the retardant. The 302nd Airlift Wing uses the U.S. Forest Service Modular Airborne Firefighting System, commonly known as #MAFFS to help provide wildfire response support across the country. We're one of four wings providing this support to the fire fighters on the ground! Those folks are truly heroes!
