THE YANKEES GET BACK ON TRACK IN GAME ONE! It wasn’t a clean start for Max Fried and the Yankees as they quickly went down 3-0 early but they battle back scoring nine unanswered to take the first game over Chicago, 9-4! Rice and Chisholm had big days at the plate and Ali Sanchez had quite a memorable moment late hitting his first career homerun to blow the game open! Fried wasn’t great but fell victim to soft contact and a few misplays. His final line: 3.0 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 4 K. Still on a pitch count so only threw 66 pitches. The Yankee bullpen held serve once again. Angel Chivilli, Tim Hill, Fernando Cruz, Brent Headrick, Paul Blackburn and Camilo Doval, and David Bednar were all used as the Yankees had to use their closer.
