The spiral staircase inside the St. Augustine Lighthouse was built with iron from Pennsylvania that arrived by ship to St. Augustine, Florida in 1873! If you look very closely, you will find small numbers and letters on the staircase. The staircase arrived in parts and was assembled on site.
